Billy Lewis

Assistant Mechanic

Whenever the crew needs a hand with the tires, or with anything else for that matter, Billy Lewis, Nine Racing's Assistant Mechanic is at their side. Billy joined Nine Racing part time during the summer of 2007. His job duties vary from day to day. Both at the shop and at the track on race day, he makes sure the car is ready to go. He gets the job done, whatever the job might be from one moment to the next.

Billy started racing quarter midgets when he was four until age 13, winning over 200 main events and being inducted into the Quarter Midget Hall of Fame at the conclusion of his quarter-midget career. He took a couple of years off, and currently races karts. Billy was influenced by his father, who owned a tool rental for 30 years, and older brother, sprint and midget driver Michael.

In addition to his active Nine Racing position and kart racing pursuits, Billy is currently a full-time student at Ivy Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana.
